Can we trial Scouting before joining?
Of course! We welcome new members at any point during the year. New members are welcome to attend for up to 3 weeks without any commitment, to see whether Scouting is for them. For duty of care reasons, we need some paperwork filled out on your first night but this does not obligate you to continue to join. Please do contact us to let us know you're attending first.
What uniform is required?
Uniform is not included in the fees, and needs to be purchased separately.
Joeys wear:
Dark blue shirt with the section colour, which is Tan, across the sleeve, yoke and collar. Cubs wear: Dark blue shirt with the section colour, which is Yellow, across the sleeve, yoke and collar. Scouts wear: Dark blue shirt with the section colour, which is Green, across the sleeve, yoke and collar. Venturers wear: Dark blue shirt with the section colour, which is Maroon, across the sleeve, yoke and collar. Leaders wear: Dark blue shirt. |
For boys, navy shorts or trousers are worn (such as King Gee brand). Girls can buy navy culottes from K-Mart or Best and Less.
We'll provide you with a blue, white and red 1st Dural Scarf when joining, and the relevant badges. You'll also need to purchase a woggle. All scouting uniforms can be purchased online from the Scout Shop, with free postage.
Where do the badges need to be placed?

What parental involvement is required?
Ours is a voluntary organisation and we do rely heavily on parental support.
We ask all families to assist several times a year, with fund raising and hall maintenance. However, if you can’t spare any of your valuable time, you have the option of paying one or both of the levies attached to your annual invoice.
Parental involvement in our committee is also most welcome.
