To obtain the Venturer award, the Venturer must first obtain the badges below:
Initiative Badge - an overnight course. First Aid Badge - a recognised First Aid Course Unit Management Badge - a one day course, plus a written report. Ideals Badge - a minimum of 10 hours completing three of the available tasks. Environment Badge - a minimum of 10 hours on an environmental project, plus a 300 word report. |
Plus any 2 of the following badges:
Outdoor Badge - a minimum 10 hours learning a physical activity (eg a canoe course) Lifestyle Badge - a minimum 10 hours in a sport or fitness program, over at least 2 months. Plus host a discussion with your unit on good health. Service Badge - a minimum 10 hours service to another Scout section, or another community organisation. Vocations Badge - a minimum 25 hours preparing a resume, sitting interviews, and a report on one of the suggested topics. Expression Badge - a minimum 10 hours improvement or appreciation of the arts. Citizenship Badge - a minimum 10 hours completing four of the available tasks. Pursuits Badge - a minimum 10 hours developing skills over at least 2 months. Expedition Badge - a two day expedition, of a minimum 12 hours. |
Completion of the Venturer Award (including the expedition badge) will also qualify for the issue of the Certificate II in Leadership Support/Business.

To achieve the prestigious Queens Scout Award, a Venturer Scout must be able to set a goal; plan progress towards that goal; organise their self and others; and maintain the determination to overcome difficulties and complete the task.
They must also have achieved the Venturing Skills Award and complete the requirements in four award areas:

What is the Queens Scout Award?
- Adventurous Activities – demonstrates that the Venturer Scout is challenged in initiative, expeditions an outdoor adventures.
- Community Involvement – activities centred on citizenship, community service and caring for the environment.
- Leadership Development – involvement in Unit management and leadership courses and studying different vocations.
- Personal Growth – self development through expressions, ideals, mental pursuits and personal lifestyle.

How do I obtain my Queens Scout Badge?
By earning a combination of 4 of the following badges, plus 6 remaining VA badges. Leadership Badge (compulsory) - a two day course and 6 months post course experience. Expedition Badge - a four day expedition (minimum 30 hours) Outdoor Badge - a minimum 30 hours learning a physical activity. Ideals Badge - a minimum 30 hours completing four of the available tasks Expression Badge - a minimum 30 hours over approximately 6 months and perform/display in public Lifestyle Badge - a minimum 30 hours in a sport or fitness program over approximately 6 months. Pursuits Badge - a minimum 30 hours developing skills over approximately 6 months. Environment Badge - a minimum 30 hours completing five activities. Service Badge - a minimum 30 hours of practical service and relevant training. |
